Volunteer

Open source communities thrive when people contribute their time, knowledge and experience. That's why volunteering has been an important part of my work with technology for many years.

I have been active in the international Joomla community since 2005, contributing in different technical, organisational and leadership roles. Closer to home, I organise and co-organise monthly Joomla and Linux user group meetings in the Nijmegen area, where people can exchange knowledge, share experiences and help each other.

I also enjoy bringing people together outside the technical community. That's why I started Open Coffee Nijmegen, an informal monthly networking event for entrepreneurs and freelancers.

Whether it's answering questions, contributing to open source software, organising meetings or giving presentations, the goal is much the same: sharing knowledge and connecting people.

Joomla Community

I have been part of the Joomla community since Joomla was launched in 2005. I started by helping other users on the Joomla Forum and soon became more involved in the international community behind the project.

Linux User Group Nijmegen

In 2007, I switched from Windows XP to Linux and started using Linux as my main operating system. Five years later, in 2012, Linux User Group Nijmegen became a reality.
