Joomla User Group Arnhem-Nijmegen
Joomla User Group Arnhem-Nijmegen is a local community where Joomla users, website builders and developers meet to share knowledge and experiences.
The user group was originally organised by others, with meetings in Ressen and Arnhem. In 2017, I moved into a new office in Nijmegen with enough space to host meetings. I offered to help organise the user group and suggested alternating the meetings between the Arnhem area and my office in Nijmegen.
Since then, I have organised and hosted the Nijmegen meetings and regularly give presentations myself.
Monthly Joomla meetings
We meet every month, except during the summer break. For several years, the meetings alternated between Ressen, later Arnhem, and Nijmegen.
In 2024, Rachel Walraven joined me as co-organiser. We now alternate between our offices: one month at my office in Nijmegen and the next at Rachel's office in Zevenaar. We have kept the familiar name Joomla User Group Arnhem-Nijmegen.
The meetings usually include one or more presentations, followed by plenty of opportunity to discuss Joomla, exchange experiences and help each other with questions and problems.
Topics range from new Joomla features and extensions to development, security, performance, accessibility and other web technologies.
Sharing Joomla knowledge
What I particularly enjoy about Joomla User Groups is the interaction between people.
Over the years, I have spoken at many Joomla User Groups throughout the Netherlands. Those meetings showed me how valuable it is to bring users together in an informal setting. You don't just learn from the presentations, but also from the questions, discussions and experiences of other Joomla users.
That's what I like about Joomla User Group Arnhem-Nijmegen: meeting people with a shared interest in Joomla, exchanging ideas and learning from each other.
