Joomla User Groups, Access and Permissions
Joomla provides a powerful and flexible user groups, access and permissions (ACL) system that allows website administrators to define in detail who (which user groups) can access specific parts of the site (Access) and what actions users are allowed to perform (Permissions (ACL). An important aspect of this is the ability to set access levels, making content visible only to certain user groups.
In addition, Joomla allows administrators to manage user actions, such as creating, editing, deleting and publishing content. By giving different user groups specific rights, an organised workflow can be ensured and unauthorised changes can be prevented. Moreover, Joomla offers additional flexibility by setting permissions down to category and article level. This makes it possible to have unique access rules for each section of the site.
